last week I spent 3 days porcelain painting with Mary Gosden from the USA and 8 other ladies. Such fun! Mary is very different from other porcelain painters and specialises in clockworks and architecture. In April 2014 I did the clockworks already so this time I wanted to do the architecture. ( Workshop with Mary Gosden) But although buildings can be very beautiful they are also only "things" to me and I like to tell a story with my picture. That is probably why I like washing lines so much. When I see those underpants, sheets and shirts blowing in the wind they tell me the story of the inhabitants of the house. This apparment block is in Lisbon where my husband and I spent a lovely warm weekend with friends. Another story! Picture 1: The finished product Picture 2: The result after day one Picture 3: A demonstration of Mary on how to paint the cool and warm colours. I had to wipe it off again. Picture 4: Adding the lantern before adding colour to the walls. Picture 5: With bird silouettes at the end of day two. |
I started a second plate during the workshop which is not finished yet. Watch my next blog!
