In 2005 I painted this mug for my husband who is a keen rower and scientist. After using the mug for 9 years on a daily basis, putting it in the dishwasher every day it had faded a bit in some places. So I decided to touch it up and restore it in it's old glory. My husband lost his moustache and gained some gray hairs in the meantime but still looks much more handsome then I painted him.

After I had finished the Bee Dinner Set ( /personal-gifts.html) I could hear the longing for bees and sunflowers in my daughters voice. Her fruit bowl had disapeared after she moved in January so I had a good excuse to make her one. Doesn't it look sunny?
It sook her a while to work out that the bowl would be for her, but when she realised there were squeals of disbelief and happiness and big hugs. What else does a mum want? |
